I think, it’s quite a suspense of belief since the whole linear cockpit should be just about the same than the whole compartment on the 'nose' section. Also, remembering a specific scene where Cammile get out from that same compartment by a hatch door on its up side, just before he get shots by Zeon grunts in Haman’s flagship. It also happened to me when I saw the MG model several years ago and realize on Waverider mode the cockpit “move” in the front in those tiny little red 'block'.

In case of Zeta era, the linear 360-pano screens cockpit maybe a lot bulkier but their round shape probably easier to rotate. The rotating part is mostly the seat and the front panel along with the HUD.

Both needs to rotate almost 90 degrees to the front/down from its standard MS mount to fighter use. MSG and 0083 shows quite some artworks regarding this change. Well, all core fighter need to rotate the cockpit seat when changed from MS use to fighter use. And can the pilots get in and out on the ground when in their 'Mobile Armor'/'Bird Mode'/'Whatever they choose to call it this time' modes? I know we see the Asshimar sitting on a tarmac in this mode, and I remember a scene from a Wing trailer (can't remember if it happened in the series) of the Wing Gundam launching from a runway, so I would assume they can but I don't know how. I know the FLAG and Enact have rotating seats in a special cockpit module and have a hatch that corrects for this enabling the pilot to still get in and out.īut what about the Kyrios/Arios, ZZ Gundam, the assorted Titan models, Airmaster, Wing/Zero and Epyon? Do their cockpits rotate in anyway or is the pilot just stuck facing downwards held up by his seat restraints with a corrected visual on their respective monitors. Rather cool design really (though I'm confused how they could fit a linear seat in that cramped module.). I recently built a Zeta model and discovers that it cockpit flips around and ends up on the nose of the WR like an airplane, something I wondered for a long time but didn't feel like freeze framing during the series to figure out how the pilot corrected its self.
